City Decides to Extend Odd-even Policy

Jakarta Provincial Government has decided to extend the odd-even traffic in a number of the capital roads.

Signs have also been intensified as the information for the motorists to be more know and obey the policy

According to Gubernatorial Regulation No. 155/2018 on traffic restrictions with odd-even system, it will be applied starting today, Wednesday (1/2).

It is scheduled to operate at 6-10 AM and 4-8 PM. It does not apply every weekend and national holiday.

Here are roads that get the odd-even system, as follows;

- Jalan Medan Merdeka Barat

- Jalan MH Thamrin

- Jalan Jenderal Sudirman

- Jalan Jenderal Gatot Subroto

- Parts of Jalan Jenderal S Parman (Slipi Intersection-Tomang Intersection)

- Jalan MT Haryono

- Jalan HR Rasuna Said

- Jalan Jenderal DI Panjaitan, and 

- Jalan Jenderal Ahmad Yani

Jakarta Transportation Dept. Head, Sigit Wijatmoko disclosed that a number of personnel have been alerted to smoothen it.

"Signs have also been intensified as the information for the motorists to be more know and obey the policy,' he said.

Aside that, notification signs have also been installed at 12 segment exclusion points include, closest intersection to toll entrance and toll exit to the nearest intersection.

"It's hoped that could be installed in the forthcoming February," he hoped.

Besides minimizing traffic jam and reduce vehicle volume, it also aims to invite people using public transportation.

"Moreover the public transportation integration through Jak Lingko has been realized. We want public transportation to be a priority to support its mobility," he asserted.

As for the information, it is not applied on motorcycle, vehicles that carry disabled persons, fire trucks, ambulances, tow cars, vehicles with yellow plate, and vehicles transporting oil and gas.

Then vehicles for certain purposes based on the consideration of police officers, operational cars including army/police, as well as official and foreign countries cars, including international institutions who are guests of the state.
